The Community Tet Festival and Evening Dance - Year of the Dragon
The Community Tet Festival for the Year of the Dragon 2024 will be organized by the Vietnamese
Association, Toronto in collaboration with various religious and community organizations on
Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 3 Halls of the Capitol Banquet Centre (Scarlet, Starlight & Tea),
located at 6435 Dixie Road, Mississauga, from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. Following that will be the
Year of the Dragon Evening Dance from 8:30 pm to 1:30 an. The cultural program will feature
renowned singers from the USA as well as local talents. There will also be a fashion show
featuring traditional ao dai dresses and community singing performances. The event will have
spectacular lighting and sound. Please contact vat@vatoronto.ca to reserve a booth, sponsor, or
volunteer. All financial contributions to the Tet Festival and the scholarship funds will be issued
tax receipts. Further details will be provided later. Your participation is welcome and

Announcement: Annual General Meeting (AGM) on December 17, 2023
In accordance with the "Reasons for Decision" document from the Divisional Court dated
November 3, 2023 (attached), the Vietnamese Association, Toronto (VAT) will hold its
Annual General Meeting (AGM) with the following details here

The Vietnamese Association, Toronto Scholarship NEW SUBMISSION DATE
The Vietnamese Association, Toronto is now accepting scholarship applications for Vietnamese
students in Ontario who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents, have graduated from high
school, and are in the academic year 2023-2024 at colleges or universities. The scholarship
awards include:
1/ Outstanding Academic Achievement
2/ Outstanding Community Involvement
Applicants must submit their final high school (Grade 12) academic transcripts and transcripts
from colleges or universities, along with a school introduction letter, school commendations, and
a 500-word essay on the topic "The Role and Contribution of Vietnamese Youth in Building a
Strong and Just Society." Essays written in Vietnamese will be given priority consideration but
are not mandatory. A statement of financial need can be attached for special cases. Further
details will be provided by the Scholarship Committee.
All awards will be presented at the Community Tet Festival on Saturday, January 27, 2024. The
deadline for applications is 5:00 PM on Saturday, December 30, 2023. To obtain an application

The Vietnamese Association Toronto, provides a number of free settlement services for eligible newcomers under IRCC funding in eight languages: English,
Vietnamese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Tibetan, Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.
